On Her Account: Can Strengthening Women's Financial Control Boost Female Labor Supply?


Recent economic progress in India leads to better paying jobs; yet, Indian women’s participation in labour markets has not improved significantly. An experiment in India conducted by GLM|LIC researchers from the project “Empowering Women through Public Policy”, suggests that social norm is a main factor keeping Indian women from labor markets.
