The 4th IZA/DFID GLM-LIC Research Conference at the University of Michigan

From September 28 to 29, 2018, the 4th IZA/DFID GLM-LIC Research Conference took place at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. More than twenty researchers from leading universities and research institutes attended the conference and presented their latest research findings related to labour markets in low-income countries. The keynote lecture focused on the impact of labour market interventions on social norms of female employment, and was given by Prof. Erica Field (Duke University and IZA). In addition to a number of presentations from currently running GLM|LIC research projects, new research ideas which have been recently chosen for funding were presented in the conference. In their presentations, researchers tackled a variety of topics ranging from intergenerational mobility to evaluating the impact of different active market policies and covered also several issues related to empowerment of women in developing countries.
The IZA/DFID GLM-LIC Research Conference takes place annually and aims at creating a stimulating environment that enables participants to engage in discussions on pressing issues related to labour markets and growth in low-income countries.
